The Story of the Forest Trail provides a visual story on the reforestation of what was once a meadow. The trail departs from the north end of the parking lot at the Harry F. byrd, Sr. Visitor Center and makes a circuit out through the woods, passes near Big Meadows campground and eventually returns on a paved path paralleling the access drive for Big Meadows Lodge and campground. We did this one on the 2012 Turkey Day weekend.
