From 2011 Thanksgiving weekend at Skyland Resort, a lodge located along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park (Mile 41.7). The nearest identifiable town is Luray, Virginia. The lodge and grounds are at an elevation of about 3700 feet and we had some spectacular views of mountain ridges and sunsets right from our room. We also enjoyed several short but occasionally strenuous hikes on nearby trails.
