Ron Meyers is an emeritus professor from the University of Georgia at Athens, GA. He creates a variety of functional work, much of it in a sturdy Japanese style that has intentional imperfections that provide character. In addition, many of his pieces are decorated with painted or relief art in an amazingly loose and quick style. Generally we see animals, rendered in a way that can't help but make the viewer smile.
