Pennsylvania has a large number of multi-use recreational trails using space once allocated to railroads or canals. These offer great opportunity for hiking and cycling and are often next to some of the state's major rivers.

As Ye Olde Photographer travels some of these he accumulates photos that may convey some sense of the trails. Many pass through areas with a long historical heritage; occasionally providing samples of century old or older architecture and infrastructure.
