Here Ye Olde Photographer presents a selection from some shots taken on Fuji Acros 100 with his Yashica Mat 124g during a wandering through upstate New York. The emphasis was on his typical old infrastructure subjects.
The railroad bridge is the Portage Bridge over the Genesee River on the edge of Letchworth State Park, a remarkable bridge approximately 240 feet above the river, built in 1875! This bridge replaced an 1852 wooden structure that was perhaps the largest such structure in the world. It consumed about 250 acres worth of timber to construct, but fell victim to fire in 1875. The structure seen here is still in use but a project to replace it is in progress. Originally the Erie Railroad, it is now the Norfolk-Southern.
We have a few shots of the former New York Central pasenger and freight stations in Seneca Falls, now repurposed as offices, although the rail line is still active. There are a few shots of Sodus Point Lighthouse in Sodus Point, NY, on Lake Ontario.
