Mid-Hudson Valley

Well, maybe this is part of the Catskills, or maybe not. Anyway, on our way home, we wandered through Hyde Park area after leaving New Paltz. We decided, since it had been recommended, that we would attempt to get lunch at the CIA - heh, that's Culinary Institute of America. As luck would have it, it seems the restaurants we were targeting are open Tuesday through Saturday and we were standing there on Sunday - oh well! We wandered around a little bit and saw some of the beautiful campus, but a meal will have to wait for the next time we get up that way.

From there we headed south a ways, then across the Mid-Hudson Bridge and south westward toward Pennsylvania. Going south on Route 9 took us under the Walkway over the Hudson, a former railroad bridge that has been remodeled for pedestrian traffic. It is 210 feet high, and 1.28 miles long, so we passed on walking up there, at least for this trip.
