Campobello is an island about ten miles long that includes the former Franklin Roosevelt family compound, now a joint US/Canadian park. The island is all Canadian soil and this park is the only arrangement like it anywhere. Note that in these days of paranoia — er — "increased security" you need a passport to visit from the US. (Actually, the passport is needed to get back into the US.)
At the opposite end of the island is East Quoddy lighthouse which one may visit. There is parking near the light, but from there, access is by foot and involves steep stairways and walking over some rocks and wet areas. Access is limited to about a three hour window around low tide. This is serious business, as the tide runs around twenty feet, and rolls in at about five feet per hour and you don't want to get caught in that. If the tide comes in while you are investigating the lighthouse facilities, you will be stuck there for about eight hours.
