Limon, off I-70 in Colorado, about half way between the eastern border and Denver, was a spur of the moment lunch stop and an enjoyable visit to a former Rock Island Railroad depot that is now a museum of the town's history and heritage center. Besides the railroad themed items, there is a collection of Indian pottery from the Southwest, a separate building with a lot of farm and home related items, and a sampling of railroad rolling stock, some of which is open to walk through.
We enjoyed a pleasant lunch at a small restaurant a block or so walk away. And we were quite impressed with the quality of the museum, a fine example of what some dedicated folks can do as a collective effort.
This was part of the Grand Tour 2016, a 5800 mile drive through flyover country!
