My wife and I spent two weeks submersed in art and history. We were accompanied by our niece,
who was in school there, during her spring break. What an incredible sense of history, not to
mention, fantastic food. We traveled on foot or by train -- rail service was excellent.

Tech Note: These photos were taken on 35mm and APS films. These pages were originally uploaded
from scanned 4 x 6 prints; a tortuous path that limits the quality. In August 2007 a 35mm film
scanner was acquired and most of these shots are now scanned from negatives. In the process,
a few additional pictures were added. A method was improvised to scan APS negatives with the
35mm scanner. The scanner is an inexpensive PrimeFilm 3650u that only scans a frame at a time.
While perhaps not highly regarded, the 3650's results are way better than a print scan (and I'm cheap!)
