EFKE IR 820

For a second round, Ye Olde Photographer obtained more Rollei Infrared 400, but also procured some EFKE IR820. The Efke film is one of the closest there is to the old and discontinued Kodak film (and in all honesty, isn't that close!) There are two versions of the EFKE material, with and without an anti- halation coating, the latter marketed as "Aura", we used the non-aura version.

With the EFKE film, YOP has tentatively settled on about EV-7.5 for the IR760 filter and about EV-6.5 for the IR72. Unlike the Rollei IR material, the EFKE IR sensitivity apparently extends far enough that there is little difference in exposure times between the two filters.

Having been unhappy with the previous shot of the scene used for test here, we shot it again with both films and both filters.

Kodak HC110 developer, dilution E (1+47) was the soup of choice. About 9.25 minutes developing time at 68ºF (20ºC), agitating five seconds per minute, proved to be a reasonable starting point for processing
for the EFKE IR820.
