This site, on Mermaid Lane outside of Philadelphia, was the location of the first experimental TV station in the Philadelphia
area. The station dated back to 1932 and was an effort b y Philo Farnsworth and the Philco Corporation. W3XE and W3XPF
were the early stations at this location. The current 500 foot tower was erected in 1948 and still hosts an assortment of communications.
