(Enh!) I wish I had applied another coat of the blue slip, but the general idea worked out.
(It's not quite my idea of "dark blue" either, but perhaps that would improve with a thicker coat.)
The final size is 5.75 inches square (at the "fat" part) 5.25 inches square at the top and 12 inches high.
