One of the traditional redware decorations. Pieces of bird quill were placed in
the slip container to create the tubes. After the slip dried to about leather hard,
paper might be placed over this disk and rolled to make the white lines level with
the surface. The clay slab would then be draped over a mold and worked to shape.
