This is the heart of what was the home plant of Bethlehem Steel Corporation. The plant has been idle for some
years, but effort is underway to preserve some of it in an industrial heritage museum. The property, which once
extended nearly five miles down the river and south to Hellertown, included coke works and slag dumps, as well
as its own railroad. Portions have already been adapted or redeveloped to promote various entrepeneurial uses.
