Back Open

This was one of the units that used a moderately high voltage battery, current
limited to charge a capacitor. The capacitor, visible to the left, supplied the high
slug of current to fire the bulb. This permitted use of a much smaller battery, such
as the Eveready #504 15 volt unit seen here. (Doubt they are found anywhere today!)
