A mere 4 megapixel "Point & Shoot" but this served well for Ye Olde Photographer as an
introduction to digital photography.
As newer, fancier gear was accumulated, the A80 was relegated to things such as taking it to the
ceramic studio to avoid risk to more valuable gear. Alas, on January 24, 2014, about ten years after its
acquisition, it appears to have given up. Remarkably, the original Canon branded NiMH cells that came
with it still are able to hold a charge, and outlasted one of the later sets cycled into the process.
Ye Olde Photographer approaches all his work as in film days, so this item has only taken 8,589 shots
(counting the final disaster), but it has traveled to Italy, England and all over the northeastern US and
done some good work. RIP!
