Thanks so much Duncan for all of your awesome pics......greatly appreciate that I was able to reminisce with you and your fond memories!! I came across your site as I was trying to find pics from my days as well!! I started Simcoe Composite in 1974, and back than our gang of friends sat at the Carillon Tower and went to Bob Thorton's!!My lunchbreak ritual always consisted of the famous "Cinamon Danish" candy bar, "Thrills' gum that tasted absolutely just like soap and those "Cinamon Toothpicks" By the way, Bob's selection of "Detective mags were great"!! I also tried to find our old "Woolworth's and Pink Petunia and Susan's of Simcoe which by the way sold the best demin levis jeans at the back of her store.....I believe we called it the "Den"! Wow, those were the days!! I remember "British Knit and Kindy Furriers as well!! The old Simcoe Strand Theater was other great hangout for me and my friends too!! Every Christmas my list for gifts to buy was fulfilled pretty much by great things found at "Walkers and Budd's!! I can't believe that "Budd's have left.....so sad!! Do you remember Caswell Dairy? Did we not get the biggest scoops of icecream on those cones.....damn, those were the days!! And Nichol's Bakery!! My list goes on he,he, but those are my memories!! Best, Laurie Leigh Pearce

Thank you for sharing these pictures. I found these quite by accident. I attended SCS for grade 11 & half of grade 12 in '71 and '72 before we moved away to Thunder Bay. My time at SCS is one I remember with great fondness. So many great people and so much fun. I live in High River, Alberta now and lost my treasured yearbook in a flood in 2013 (no High River jokes - we've heard them all!!) so it's great to see these pictures again. Thanks so much for the memories.

Did not go to SCS but my girlfriends and I would ditch school at NPC in Brantford and head to Simcoe to check out the 'hot' guys at SCS, actually saw a few of those 'hot' guys in the pictures, lol. Great pics of Dover and ahhh Summer Garden, miss those days!

Hi Duncan-my son Paul sent me the link for these pictures. I have seen some of your work before sent to me by my sister Mary. While I was a few years ahead of your gang I do remember many of the kids and teachers. I was especially thrilled to see the picture of my brother Paul from 1977. It is one I had not seen before.
