For a few brief cold minutes one night in December I had a go at capturing the lunar marvel which is our moon. I used the mighty Canon 500 f4 (IS) lens and my 'backup' body 40D which gave me a 1.6 magnification right away. You can see the results with various converters and combinations all mounted on the famous Wimberley 2oo head supported by the equally famous Gitzo 1548 carbon fibre tripod. The latter three shots were at 800 iso, all triggered by finger release on the shutter.Total effective magnification with stacked converters 2240mm.
