The JSriders Travel to Idyllwild and Mt. Palomar, CA, May 2-4, 2003

It's the first weekend in May, and time for the annual ride to Alpine, AZ. But this year we decided to break tradition and travel somewhere else. We chose to ride to Mt. Palomar, home of the 200 inch Hale telescope, and stay overnight in Idyllwild, in the San Jacinto Mountains above Palm Springs. The Grass Valley contingent was rained out, but on Friday Bob rode most of the way to Idyllwild from Cambria in the rain while the AZ group rode there in sunshine. It rained all day Saturday, so we elected to explore Idyllwild on foot. And Sunday was a glorious day for riding.

For addditional photos from our trip, see Ron's Palomar gallery.
