Laws of attraction

New cars attract shopping carts like sharks are to blood in the water. When I parked in this spot, there was not a single car, person or cart around to be seen. Fast forward ten minutes while getting bread and paying for it in record time this cart is ready to kiss my paint. Say what you want but the carts are possessed. My first job in high school was as a bag boy and cart guy at a major grocery store. I swear those fucking carts would move on their own to the farthest reaches of any given parking lot they are in. The worse or colder the weather, the farther out they go.

The shot does have that appropriate air of paintwork menace to it.
Still, look at the bright side... however those carts get there, you know that not one of them will have travelled there in a straight line. Not without someone applying about 130 Nm of torque to the handle to keep the damn thing going down the aisle instead of arcing off into the shelves.

Never take a new car into a commercial parking lot or you better wear hiking shoes and be prepared to walk a long way. (like from home) Of course people opening car doors and "drive away" parking accidents that you discover when you get home rank 2nd and 3rd. Great title for this image and a physics lesson in the laws of shopping carts. I just always drive an old vehicle and don't worry about it.

So true! Add snow and ice the carts still show up in all these places. I had a similar job in my youth and noticed when you go to retrieve them they would dig in and you have to fight them to get them back to the store.

New gallery idea: Cart tards.

Inevitable. If you park close, you get a door ding. If you park farther out, the shopping carts migrate to that area. Either way, your nice paint is doomed. :)
