Letters Home.jpg

The Armed Forces Memorial sits on a flagstone patio jutting out into the Elisabeth River. It consists
of letters home home from soldiers who were killed shortly thereafter, from each of the wars in which
the United States has engaged. They have been cast in bronze and strewn across the patio like sheets
of paper blowing in the wind. This is not an easy monument to capture, and I'm not sure I've done it
justice. Even for a long time skeptic of US military policy this is a moving and engaging memorial.

For you panographers, this was taken with the axis of the camera purposely about 30 degrees from
vertical, 5 images, FOV about 160 degrees, equirectangular projection.
