This a mixed focal length image combining high resolution luminance data (0.65"/pixel) with previously taken lower resolution undersampled RGB data (3.39"/pixel). The object is of course M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy, a grand face-on spiral galaxy in Ursa Major.
