Puffins are beautiful and funny birds, and Iceland hosts more than half of the world population of Atlantic Puffins. They initially look like ducks made of plastics, with a unique colorful look and funny behavior, but they are certainly for real - a lovable amusing bird.
Puffins sometimes resemble penguins in their look and behavior, but they are much smaller - typically about 20 cm high and half a kg weight.
One of the reasons that it's so difficult to photograph flying Puffins is because of their small size and high speed - typically 80 km/hr.
The beautiful typical orange beaks and feet can be seen only during summer time - the breeding season. During the rest of the year, the color fades to gray.
