Sapho Longwing

Scientific name: Heliconius sapho

The original identification of this butterfly as a Sara Longwing was incorrect. This is a Sapho Longwing with wings open. Ms. Palombi has
informed me that the bluish cast shows up in certain light conditions and is more or less pronounced on individual butterflies.

The bottom image is the Sapho Longwing posted on December 4 with wings closed, the same species!
