I also spent a week at a time a few different years while a teen on the lake. Brings back memories! We stayed at Donald Bertrand's (sp) cabins right after the secoond wood bridge. Ice in the sawdust, water pumped from the lake, outhouse, woodstove, bathing in the lake (hard to remember, but it must have been #%@& cold, and propane lights. I almost gorgot the great bakery in town with the cake/cookies, and where I first learned to put vinagar on french fries. Oh and in the cabin by sunset or the mosquitos carried you away :). I would LOVE to return to the area for some GOOD fishing with the same OLD ammenities (yes even the outhouse)

These are absolutely wonderful photographs of Lac Poisson Blanc. I believe that is where we went as a family when I was a child. There was a lodge with several cabins on one end of the lake. The last year we vacationed there was perhaps in the mid fifties. That last year, the lodge was bought by a group of priests for a retreat. One thing I remember with great fondness, is the sound of the wolves howling each night. Are the wolves still there? Do you have any knowledge of the history of the lodge that stood on Lac Poisson Blanc? Gail

I have a chalet in Notre-Dame-du-Laus and seing your pictures make me dream!!!! Love the Poisson blanc lake, your pictures are so beautiful.... I am at the job, I am taking a brake, looking at your pictures and feel like kicking off everything and go there!!!! Thank you! Martine
