Nice shirt.

Is there a Union Jack towel next to the Bidet in Jack's water closet?

Very compelling photograph.

Man, this gallery is awesome! Great idea for a triptych. Your storytelling with images has always been strong and it continues here. These iamges are in a different league than most of pbase. You have a talent for simplifying an image and still retaining an element of depth. This is great subject matter and you are really capturing the essence with these images. It's like all of my senses are involved in view them....the smoke, the sound of ice clinking in the glass, the raspy voice of the smoker, the soft green felt....amazing work, man. Really outstanding.

Couldn't agree more with everyone...love the focus on details which maybe give tiny hints as to his character - the sov/the shades/the shirt/the cigarette - and then the full whack of large geezerness in the middle. I'm really enjoying the photos in this gallery so far.

God, I needed a smile tonight and you gave me one with this - not only is it witty, but it's so gorgeous by way of clarity, composition, color, and imagination.. you are fantastic

Alright now, what else can I say other than SUPERCOOL, INGENIOUS, PEERLESS, INCREDIBLE, ...!!! The light control is perfect perfect perfect! What I love most is the left and right ones, with superb close up detail and cropping. The central one is simply funny and expressive. So you got the hand, the eye and the money, you're in a win-win situation! Biggest vote.

I'm with Lawrence too. Top-notch, cracking triptych. Very, very cinematic. Vote.

I agree with Lawrence this is great work ... & never knew that behind California Jack there was really an Essex boy. VOTE

BTW - I grew up about a twenty minute drive (in a ford escort) from where Jack hails from. Like many of us from Essex, he is clearly a man of impeccable style.

This is fantastic. Definitely one of your strongest images from either a narrative or technical perspective. The model / lighting / moment is awesome, as is the focus on the tiny details and the decision to blend them into a triptych. Actually this is the strongest triptych I've seen in about a year I think. An image that makes me smile in both admiration and humour.
