If using a cylinder base gasket, apply sealant to both sides of the gasket before reinstallation, rather than on the engine case. Place base gasket on cylinder studs prior to reinstalling jug (DUH).

Cylinder base sealants need to “cure” for 15-30 minutes prior to closure, but this will probably be accounted for by the time it takes to refit the wristpin and circlip or wire clip.

Double check to ensure that new PRT seals, small o-rings, large o-ring, and/or base gasket are in place and that piston is correctly oriented exhaust-to-front/intake-to-rear.

Carefully slide jug and piston onto cylinder studs until connecting rod small end is centered in wristpin bore.
