f8 here. The Fujinon 14mm really does to my eyes at f8 and even more at f5.6 have much of the RENDERING of the 21mm Zeiss distagon I used to have on full-frame Canon ...I'd even say at f5.6 on the Fuji, the SHARPNESS too.
Significantly, the Zeiss has 16 elements but the Fujinon only 10: both thus "low-count" lenses for maxium light transmission but the Fujinon having the manufacturing benefit of being for APC as opposed to full-frame.
Give me a low-count prime over an over-sharpened, flatter rendered high-count one, certainly.
