For the past 2 years, myself and Pat Fisher of the Feather Rehabilitation Center have monitored the osprey nests in our area. This year we monitored 4 sites. Our goal was to be able to band the chicks at each site. Well, things don't always go as planned and we were only able to band at one site this year.
On Saturday, July 9th, we were joined by Don Baumgartner, a volunteer with the Feather Rehab Center and Dan Verhagen of WE Engeries to attempt this.
Three chicks were banded that day.
A big shout out and Thank You to Dan Verhagen of WE Energies for helping us out. Without him this part of our project could not have happened.
