hi DOUG! This is hillary burkett(Bill Shields' daughter). I was looking at your pics from the fashion show and stumbled on the rest of your gallery. I love your zoo pics, especially the asiatic black bear(ginseng), peacock, orang(jojo), bengal tiger(rajah) and b/w bats pics -which is incredible shot through such dirty dark glass. You are quite the photographer! I aspire to be a better photographer and would love to share some of my pics with you.
Also, I just ran across a technique that you may already be aware of that I am thinking about trying, its called "through the viewfinder"(ttv)and involves using a box camera like a duaflex to capture an image through its viewfinder and take with a 2nd camera. It gives a photo a charming vintage/antique look with the natural imperfections involved in this process. Ive been trying to bid on a duaflex on ebay to try out this technique. Have you heard of this before or tried it?
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and let you know that I am now officially a fan of your work, you should be a photo teacher! Id sign up for a class:)
