7/10/08- Leon's

view map

Leon Dyer (1911-2005) owned and ran Leon's new & used book store for decades in San Luis Obispo, California.
The store was a popular place for locals and visitors alike. His store was pretty famous for stocking the very obscure.
Once, Laurie and I went on a business trip to San Jose. At dinner one night we were entertained al fresco by a singer/piano player. He was just okay talent-wise and I quickly forgot him. Then one day about a year later I'm browsing through some used CDs and here is a copy of this guy's album. It was probably one of the few even in existence. Of course I bought it, we listened to it and were reminded of the night in San Jose when we were terribly disappointed in the entertainment.

So what's taking it's place?

I like this kind of places, where you can find unexpected and obscure books.
You handled this difficult light very well here.

I was going fine with the story until you wrote "of course I bought it" Doug. Seem's your live review would have been enough. Love the space and shot though. This would be a wonderful spot to shoot in with those giant skylights. V
