I love this photo. I recently took a similar pic of a pile of shoes at the foot of my staircase at my house in Hanoi during my farewell party. It is SO Vietnamese. I love the way it evokes the presence of people just inside. You can almost hear the laughter coming from the other room.

A clever idea brought back an interesting shot. The one who wore the black shiny shoes must be an elderly, a VIP, or a certain respectable man, who had come pretty early while the one wearing the pale green slippers might be late and in a hurry and he/she was sort of laid-back type. A neat and careful girl must wear the high brown boots at the far right. She must be trendy in appearance but modest in character. The story goes on and on… Maybe someone can continue…
