Soama, "My Little Brown Eyed Girl"

Soama is a true friend and my constant companion. She came to live with us a few days after I retired from the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game in 2002. We have traveled many of the trails in the Juneau area together. She alerts me to wildlife, is my eyes and ears in the woods, never complains, and she is always anxious to see what is up around the next bend. She puts up with my camera and constant photography, often posing for me without complaint. She alerts me to wildlife and then stands and waits patiently while I shoot away with my camera (see some of the other galleries).

I have been friends with many dogs in my lifetime but none that were as intelligent, sweet, and fun as little Soama.

Wonderful pictures. Your little girl is lovely. I have a little Lab too (only 50 pounds), but yellow. She's jealous that Soama gets to live in Juneau. I keep telling her, someday...
