Road trip from Juneau to interior Alaska, summer 2006

Summer 2006 and we headed for interior Alaska again. Interior Alaska is a fun mix of spectacular scenery and animals. Fun place to visit, photograph, and fly fish! These images were taken on our trip from Juneau to Denali Park and back to Juneau. First and last stages were a fast ferry ride from/to Juneau & Haines. We covered a total of just over 1,900 miles during the trip. The highest price we paid for gas on this trip was $4.77 in Beaver Creek and the lowest was $2.90 in Wasilla.

I just moved to Juneau after living 44 years in Hawaii and was researching how to take my car from Juneau to the interior when I found your web page. Love your pictures. Am definitely inspired to take a "road" trip up there next spring. Thanks so much!

Hello. My name is Elizabeth and my mother's is Marjorie. We are from upstate NY.On our first of five trips to AK, we met Rachel at the very diner, - in beautiful downtown Cantwell - she was sitting at when you took her picture posted on the web. From that time on, I'm guessing 1997,we corresponded regularly with Rachel both by phone and mail. Fortunately, we have saved all her letters and still savor them. They were so her. Priceless. She was such an inspiration, in so many ways. For us, happening upon your website was such a pleasant surprise! We were all so blessed to have know her. You "hit the nail on the head" with the pictures you posted as well as your captions. Thank you for your efforts. It is so nice to know others who appreciated Rachel for the person she was.
