I have a group of 15 senior artists cruising to Alaska. They would love to paint a couple of hours at Mendenhall Glacier. Weather would be a consideration. I heard of Skaters Cabin. How would I contact someone to see what facilities are there. Also the Visitor's Centre I wondered if permission would be granted to paint from there. Famous canadian artists is their instructor and I travel with them wearing 2 hats. escort and artist.

I bought the Citabria owned by a Joe Hiel (sp?). It had passed through two other owners in the meantime. I believe Joe was based out of Hoonah and used it to commute to Juneau for work.

Doug, Good stuff. I lived and flew out of Juneau in the mid 90's. Lots of memories from your pics. You didn't by chance buy (and then totally rebuild) your Citabria from Joe? I have several hours in his old bird. It was a 7ECA I think.
