The Homs museum has little to hold one's interest (the guidebook The monuments of Syria by Ross Burns begs to differ and says it "should not be missed"), and to keep that a secret photography is strictly forbidden. There are a few Palmyra style grave monuments, not particular, there is a mosaic with a personification of the Orontes river (not special in my mind), some decent sarcophagi, ancient pottery, well, if you're near, go and visit, if not, forget about it.
