This was the portico to the Royal Palace with two wooden pillars on the stone bases you can still see. The palace dates from de Late Bronce Age, late 14th-13th century BC. Behind it there was a small reception area. The palace is to the right, to the left there were some rooms storing the archives that were escavated by the French and give deep insight in the administration and the running of the court.
