The Artemis Temple. It has an impressive hall in front. It was probably erected at the spot of an earlier temple, built 150-170 AD, and was part of an extremely beautiful complex. However, the edict of Theodorius in 386 allowed people to dismantle “pagan” temples and led to its deconstruction. I show pictures of its fine columns, and the temenos (inner temple) with inside the main altar.
