Rome B2 Villa Borghese 001.jpg

I love Italian ceiling paintings, with wonderful trompe l'oeil effects. I may find the time later to determine what is being represented, I seem to spot one fall of Phaeton, but for the time being I hope viewers will enjoy the craftsmanship.

There is a search engine, Google, and there is another source, the Wikipedia. It cost me four clicks to find (concerning a ceiling by Mariano Rossi, introduced as "Its decorative scheme includes a trompe l'oeil ceiling fresco in the first room, or Salone, by the Sicilian artist Mariano Rossi makes such good use of foreshortening that it appears almost three-dimensional."):

"Ceiling fresco depicting Camillus in battle while Romulus pleads with Jove, located in room of Villa Borghese".

So there you are.

Can someone please tell me who this artist is that painted this? Does this have an exact title?
