This museum faces the old hippodrome, now At Meydanı, opposite the Blue Mosque. It houses an exquisite collection of Turkish and Islamic art. I have several slides from it and intend to push on later with digital pictures. For the time being I put some scans from slides on this gallery. The conditions were bad: often minimal light to protect the carpets, some of which are very old. In addition the light often was spotlight rather than mellow over-all light, and the colours, well, I had to reconstruct them by memory and gut feeling, some may be way off. Needless to say some were at the edge of unsharpness. However, this is the best I can show for the time being. As usual you may have to wait a number of days until I find the time to add comments. TÜRK VE İSLAM ESERLERİ MÜZESİ

Bu müze, Sultanahmet Camii’nin karşısında, şimdi At Meydanı olan eski hipodroma bakıyor. Türk ve İslam sanatının enfes eserlerine ev sahipliğı yapıyor. Oradan birkaç slaytım var ve daha sonra dijital resimlerle devam etmek niyetindeyim. Şimdilik, slaytlardan kimi taramaları bu galeriye koyuyorum. Resimleri çekerken şartlar kötüydü: kimisi çok eski olan halıları korumak için genelde minimum ışık kullanılmış. Ayrıca, bir uçtan bir uca yumuşak bir ışık yerine spot ışığı kullanılmıştı. Renkleri hafızama ve hislerime dayanarak yeniden oluşturmak zorunda kaldım, bazıları aslından çok uzak olabilir. Bazı resimlerde neredeyse hiç netlik olmadığını söylemeye gerek yok. Yine de bu, şimdilik gösterebileceğimin en iyisi. Genelde olduğu gibi, resimlere açıklama eklemek için ben zaman bulana kadar, birkaç gün beklemeniz gerekebilir.
