Across the street from the Yıldırım Beyazit Camii there is a fine han, where I also took some night shots. Its name is Taşhan, or Stone Inn.
In fact there are two ‘Taşhan’ next to each other. This one is the ‘Yukarı Taş Han’ (= Upper Stone Inn), built in 1750. The other one, smaller and with its entrance some 30 or 40 m downhill behind the street corner, is called ‘Aşağı Taş Han’ (= Lower Stone Han). It is from 1804.
The lower one is a restaurant and cafe, the upper one has a teagarden, but also a number of shops.
