The Şifaiye Medrese dates from 1217, and was built for sultan Izzettin Keykavbus I, it is one of the oldest buildings in the city. When he died in 1220 an Azeri architect designed the porch where Izzettin is buried. The whole complex was being restored on a grand scale in June 2011m but in 2018 I scanned slides from much erarlier, so many that a sub-gallery could be created.
