The main reason to visit Bergama, I think, is to visit the ancient town uphill, the acropolis. I walked uphill several times, and on some occassions found fine ways down. On one occassion the area near the theatre had suffered from fire.
Some restoration was visible on some occassions, I suppose that work has progressed much farther. I do not know if it is still possible to walk downhill "randomly" as I did, passing all sorts of minor sights.
I have so far neglected arranging pictures properly, let alone adding captions. In 2018 I scanned many old slides anew, and edited them again, the results I put in the place of older, worse attempts. So some sights may look different now. I also added this sub-gallery and that of the asklepion.
