At the edge of the Roman Agora (which is north of the theatre) there's the Inscribed Stele (sometimes known as the Xantian Obelisk, though it is actually a pillar-tomb of the normal type), from 425-400 BC.
It is a monument consisting of a single block of stone for a base, with inscriptions in Lycian and Greek and contain the longest text in Lycian known. The 250 lines of text probably told of the heroic deeds of Prince Kherei. The grave chamber was decorated with reliefs. There are traces of a statue on top of the block. One thinks there may have been a representation of the Prince seated on a lions’ throne.
I add here some pictures of what I feel to be mainly shops of the agora, in the area surrounding the tomb.
