It is not unusual that shortly after their circumcision, boys are granted a visit at one of Istanbul’s holy places by their parents. This is especially the case for the mosques of Sultan Ahmed and of Eyüp, as this places are freely accessible. (The Chambers of the Holy Relics, inside the Topkapı Palace are not: there is a museum entrance fee to be paid, at least for the accompagning adults).
