Bursa dec 2007 1438.jpg

Within 150 metres as the crow flies from the Muradiye complex, which is a must, is what I consider another mustą the museum in an old medrese founded by Mr. Esat Uluumay, housing only part of his huge collection of costumes, jewelry and other ethnographic artifacts. He is an avid collector as well as a former founder and active member of a folk dance group. The group brought him all over the country and much of the world. It also brought him in touch with folk people who were willing to sell him some of the old things that were becoming useless to them, but form a marvellous reminder of the rich heritage of the Ottoman empire. He told me he could easily fill a couple more museums with his collection and I think he is right. What I saw was better exposed than in almost all ethnographic museums I know in Turkey, and of the highest quality.

Taking pictures is forbidden, so I only show some parts of horse carts in the garden (he knows that), but DO go there, if you like a splendid museum.
