At the Bulgarian Churche of St. Stephen of the Bulgars. It was erected in 1871 and is entirely constructed of cast iron. Fabricated in Vienna it was shipped down the Danube in sections. It is a curious experience to knock against what looks like a marble column and hear the sound of iron.
I was informed this is the left side of the Iconostasion of St. Stefan Bulgarian orthodox Church in Fener Istanbul . The left door to enter into the Altar , ib the door we see the icon of St. Stephan the deacon and the first Great Martyr of Christianity to whom the Church is dedicated on the lefte is the icon of St. Peter the Apostle and on the right of the door, th icon of St. Nicolas, because the church is situated on the Golden Horn and St. Nicholas is protector of the Sea man. On the higher level 5 icons of the disciples. on the third row on the left the icon of Annunciation of Virgin Mary and on the right the icon of the Birth =Nativity of Christ. On the top of that the 10 commandments with 2 Russian style domes on its left and right.
