This was a rather curious mosque, with some domes of a style that is not very Turkish. I took a lot of pictures because I liked the design and the lightness of the space inside. It is called the Camlı Camii (With Glass), is from 1971 and can be found in the Bahçelievler (Houses with Garden) Mahallesi.

Although the general design of the mosque is not traditional, the paintwork decorating the walls and the dome is in a fully classical Ottoman style, imitating late 16th century patterns and making a lavishly use of elaborated calligraphy, specially in and around the dome. This kind of work is called ‘kalem işi’ (= work of the pen/paintbrush).
