After Fatih I usually head for the Yavuz Selim mosque that you see behind a curious and extremnely small graveyard. It is situated right in the middle of a road, the traffic passes on either side of it. To the left of the road is the huge space of an ancient cistern, of Asparn, a Gothic general put to death in 471 by emperor Leo I. Is is the largest of the Roman reservoirs, and once housed what seemed to be a cattle market. Now it is full of children playing grounds and sports fields.
