Nemrut 2006 09 1448.jpg

The giant limestone statue of Apollo-Mithra-Helios-Hermes, on the upper level of the east terrace. The multiple name of the god indicates his syncretic nature. He is the god sitting at the left end of the row. The statue was about 8½ meters in height (the fallen head included).
A highly developed technology was used to build this colossal statues, which were eight or nine meters in height (the fallen heads included).
